Our exclusive grip embedded on the back of each ruler, slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Then it holds the fabric in place while cutting, eliminating slipping and miss-cuts!
Our standard line of squares and rectangles are available in over 30 sizes. These rulers feature easy-to-read black and white markings that show on dark AND light fabrics.
Use the patented Turn-A-Round feature - designated by the 1/2 inch grip sides - to add the 1/2 inch seam allowance to your pieces.
Need to cut angles? We've got you covered! We have triangles to cut 12 to 120 degree angles and several sizes in between!

Checker Distributors and Creative Grids® UK Ltd. joined forces.

Both agreed to commit to Independent Businesses by insisting that the rulers not be sold to Retail Discount Stores.

Checker Distributors is the exclusive distributor of Creative Grids® in North America, while Creative Grids® UK ltd continues as an exclusive distributor in Europe.

1989

Sheila Waterfield of Leicester, England essentially started Creative Grids® in 1989.

The family owned business at the time involved plastics. She realized that the scraps from the plastics company could be turned into templates for her quilting friends. Soon the Waterfield's had developed a variety of quilting templates.

Sheila decided to print in black and white so the quilter could distinguish measurements and markings on light and dark fabrics. She then invented the opaque, non-slip grip that sets Creative Grids® rulers apart from all others. When her daughter Rachel Cross took over designing the rulers, the revolutionary Turn-a-Round feature was added.

The symbol of Leicester, England is a Fox, which can be found on the Logo of every Creative Grids® Ruler.
